Android Auto 2016 – present

Led UX for every user-facing aspect of the product, and drove countless successful launches and landings. This included major system framework updates, visual refreshes, streamlined onboarding flows, integrations with other Google teams (Assistant, Maps, Youtube Music, Messages), improved connectivity, collaborations with car and phone OEMs, scaling our 3P app ecosystem, and much more.

  • Established multi-year UX product vision, and worked with XFN partners to translate into tractable product roadmaps. 

  • Drove up product UX quality and user satisfaction by establishing team-wide quality OKRs, defining UX criteria for launch readiness across the Auto org, creating UX-owned fit-and-finish backlogs and securing ongoing engineering investment to drive down issues quarter over quarter.

  • Represented UX in cross functional planning sessions to influence and define product / UX strategy, roadmaps, priorities, budgets, and resource allocations.

  • Hired and managed a UX team of 6-12 reports; responsibilities included day to day operations, career development, performance management. Consistently earned top scores for manager satisfaction.


Impact

Scaled product from 500k to tens of millions of monthly active users and drove up customer satisfaction (CSAT) by several percentage points, which has positioned Android Auto as a critical factor in a consumer’s car buying decision process today.

Google Fiber TV

Led design for TV experience for Google Fiber customers. Launched a major refresh to the entire TV experience that included a modernized look and feel, and improvements to user journeys across search, guide, on demand, TV playback, and more.

Firefox for Android

Led design of Firefox for Android phones and tablets. Responsibilities included working with globally distributed cross functional team to define high level product direction, creating interaction design flows and prototypes, refining pixel-level visual design details, and managing a small team of designers.
